My main contacts address book will not view. Where the contacts should
display, I see a grey screen with the message "Unable to display the folder. The folder is full." How can fix this? |

Have seen this behaviour occur quite a few times (mostly in Outlook '2000 &
'XP, don't remember about Outlook '2003 and have never seen it yet with Outlook '2007). More often then not, the problem resolved itself by closing Outlook (making sure there was no orphan Outlook task remaining after Outlook appears to be closed) and then restarting Outlook again. If that failed, next option is running ScanPST (make sure you let it make a backup for you prior to proceeding in the event you need to revert to the original before ScanPST has made any changes). Note of caution, if you're running O'2007 with a PST created in earlier versions of Outlook - wouldn't suggest running ScanPST on it - would suggest creating a new PST folder in '2007 format and copying everything over to it to minimize issues. In those occasions where none of the above worked, were always able to recover the contacts in the folder by simply "copying" the contents of the original folder to a new folder (right click on the original folder name with the error and don't worry about the "Unable to display the folder" message), then select "copy" or "move" the folder to the new destination. That worked everytime but was only done if the folder didn't reset itself to becoming viewable again.
