Default Office 2003 "not implemented"

I have Office 2003 on a new Vaio laptop. I also have office 2000 on a gteway
desk top and both of them give me a pop up "not implemented" when trying to
add information to Office. Whats the deal??? I know little about software,
beyond installing and running it. and I know when it don't work right. lol.
thanks for any help you can give me, i am completely lost.....
