Default Can't access contacts/address book

Bought a new computer and reinstalled Office from scratch. I copied the old
PST file and my folders and the contacts transferred over without a problem.
However, when I start a new email and try to add an email address from
Contacts, I get a message saying that the folder can't be accessed. The
contacts are there from the left tool bar. How do I correct this problem.
Any help is appreciated.

You need to configure the Outlook Address Book service. Tools-Options-Mail Setup-Email Accounts-Directories. Add the OAB service then shut down and restart Outlook.

Thanks for the tip, but it didn't work. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
When I get to Directories and try to add the OAB, I get a message saying it
"already exists" and can't be added. Any other suggestions?

If it already esists, then remove it, stop and restart Outlook, add it back
in again, then stop and restart Outlook again. Modify the Contacts folder's
properties to show it as an address book and you should be set.
