After a computer crash I had a backup of my Outlook contacts, but not my WAB
address book. Is there anyway that I can construct a WAB from my Outlook XP contact list? I know that you can import from WAB to contacts, but can't figure it the other way. |

I know that you can import from WAB to contacts, but can't figure it the other way. Open Outlook and click FileImport and ExportExport to a fileNext. Select "Comma separated values (Windows)" and click Next. Answer all the remaining prompts, creating the CSV file. In Outlook Express, click FileImportOther Address Book, choose "Text File (Comma Separated Values)", click Import, and answer the remaining prompts. -- Brian Tillman |

Superb reply. Worked perfectly.
How do I go about rating you? Secondly, could you take me one step further? I now have a working WAB, but still when I create an email in outlook and click on the "To" button to add names the list is still empty. Is there a way that I can make Outlook see the address list which I assume it uses for this function, as it cannot see the names in my Contact folder? Superb reply. Worked perfectly. Glad to hear it. How do I go about rating you? Beats me. I don't use the web interface. Secondly, could you take me one step further? Is there a way that I can make Outlook see the address list which I assume it uses for this function, as it cannot see the names in my Contact folder? Right-click the COntacts folder and choose Properties. Click the Outlook Address Book tab. Is the box labeled "Show this folder and an e-mail Address Book" checked? If not, cheeck it. If you can't, then you need to add the Outlook Address Book service to your mail profile. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/329920/en-us -- Brian Tillman |

Two ways: I spent hours reading all of the mesages in this and the other Outlook newsgroups and I spent hours going through settings in Outlook and seeing what changes they engendered. -- Brian Tillman |
