Outlook should have the ability to specify which email account to use for
sending messages which would override the default account for designated contacts. The current rules only seem to address incoming emails. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. For the obvious reason - you have to remember to do it every time. If you
have different email accounts for different purposes, then the ideal is to assign classes of users to default to those accounts. Let the computer do the work for you and remember the settings. Better yet, set up a signature for each account that has the account
settings or at least the name to remind you. Then use Word as the editor and when you switch your signature to match your account, your account is also switched. Besides, how would you define a rule that would be configurable to select your sending account without Outlook mind reading? -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Since Outlook includes contacts, the email account coulod be attached to the
contact. The other option is for a rule to be applied for emails to a domain or a designated group of users. You can still override. The point is you noramlly would not want to.

But if it does it automatically, where is the option to override? You are
thinking like a human, computers do what you tell them and are not subject to whims. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Are Brian & Milly being deliberately awkward?
Currently Outlook by default sends using your default account and you can override this when you create the email. All Dave is asking is that the default is taken from the Contact record and again can be overridden if you want to use a different account. Sounds like I have the same situation as Dave, by default I have a number of Dlists that I send to using different accounts (99.999% of the time the account for a particular Dlist is always the same). I want the Dlist to hold the account to use. |
