Default How do you keep Outlook from changing the contact name format?

My Outlook Contacts have been Saved as John Doe. When John sends me an email
he sends it to me as . When I use the Reply or the
Reply to All feature, Outlook changes my set up on the TO line or the CC
line, from John Doe to
. I know that is is a minor
issue, but my To line and CC line usually has quite a few people on it and
these email addresses makes it clutter looking.
