Contacts Crashing
how large is the pst? As long as it's under 2 GB and there aren't 65000
items in the contacts folder, you should be ok. (if outlook 2003, there are no limits unless you are using an old pst). Define "can't do anything" - at what point does outlook crash? Does the event viewer have an information about the cause of the crash? -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Coauthor, OneNote 2003 for Windows (Visual QuickStart Guide) Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Subscribe to Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: "Kris" wrote in message ... Contacts Crashing
Diane,
Thanks for getting back to me. Since the orginal post I can sort of see what the problem is. After importing the address list; it somehow came into Outlook as over 151000 contacts. So I think the problem is the computer is just tyring to get all those contacts loaded and it just takes forever - I see my send/receive at 75% for about an hour or too then MAYBE it shows me one new message then stops. Sometimes I can get to the contact page - but that takes afew hours. I am able to delete SLOWLY - no groups or even a SHIFT and select. I thinkit's just taking too much CPU. I'm so lost as to what to do. Thanks for any and all helo. Kris -- Kris "Diane Poremsky [MVP]" wrote: how large is the pst?
