Share contact data between Excel and Outlook 2003
I am trying to copy Excel data to Outlook in Office Pro 2003.
I had created a separate contact file as "Business Consultants" under a separate folder under my mailbox. Following the help under "Share contact data between Excel and Outlook " I had named the range of cells I am trying to export. Using Outlook/File/Import Export/From another file/MS Excel/File To Import/Select destination folder the help indicates "Map Custom Fields". The button is there, but it is shaded and cannot be used. The "Next" button is also shaded and unavailable. There is no explanation in the steps or in the help window. Can anyone help me determine why I am at a dead end? -- Thanks for your help, Terry |

What you describe doesn't seem to correspond to reality. Here's what I used: FileImport and ExportExport to a fileNextComma Separated Values (Windows)Next. Select the folder, click Next, browse to the Windows folder where the export should go, give it a name, click OK, click Next, map custom fields if you want (although the defaults should work), click Finish. -- Brian Tillman |

Thanks for your response. I cant' tell you what I was doing wrong, but when I tried to give the file a name it did not work. I did discover, and was ultimately successful, by clicking on a "dummy" file I had created for this purpose . This was in lieu of "giving the new file a name" and clicking on the folder. Somewhere in there the steps were not clear to me. Thanks again, Terry "Brian Tillman" wrote: Terry S wrote: I am trying to copy Excel data to Outlook in Office Pro 2003.
