Default Outlook 2007 contact templates

I have been downloading some new electronic business card templates for
Outlook 2007 but when I download I just get an unknown persons business card
with the template on their business card. How do I then use the patterned
business card for contacts that are already in my address book?
I have tried opening the business card I would like to add the new template
to, then going clicking on 'business card' to bring up the 'edit business
card' box. But when I select 'change image' I cannot seem to find the new
downloaded template image.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Outlook 2007 does not provide any native mechanism for applying a particular electronic business card format to existing contacts. This is something that developers may add, though.

Microsoft's intent with the new EBC feature and such templates is to allow each individual to customize their own personal EBC. In other words, the template is intended for you to use to create your own contact record that will then be sent to other people when you send them your business card. It's not intended to change other people's contact records.

If you want to provide feedback on this issue, get the Send a Smile tool from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...F-7A677D55F274. This tool will transmit your comments and a screenshot back to Microsoft. As Jensen Harris explains at http://blogs.msdn.com/jensenh/archiv...23/644160.aspx, all SaS comments do get read and routed to the right people at Microsoft.

Thanks for the reply. I understand what you are saying, but all the EBCs that
I have in my contacts list are ones that I have created myself for my friends
and business associates (most of them are not technically minded enough to
make their own!). So basically I just create a new contact within Outlook and
thanks to the new Outlook 2007 I can view them all as business cards. I just
wanted to personalise them a bit more really. Also, why are the templates
available for download if they cannot be used?

Thanks again

In a nutshell, you're trying to use the EBC templates for a purpose for which they were not intended. You can use the Send a Smile tool to send Microsoft feedback on how you'd like them to work.
