Default pick a distribution list from within a contact

I have several distribution lists and I would like to be able to assign the
contact to a distribution list from within the contact instead of having to
open the existing distribution list and then selecting the contact from the
address book. This will save many keystrokes

I am currently using Outlook 2003

I realize that which is why I asked the question because it always bugged me
that you couldn't do this. It is quite a hassle to enter a contact
(especially when you are entering several contacts) and then you have to open
the dist. list and choose the contact to make them a part of the dist. list.
From within the contact there are several actions you can choose from -
granted, I'm not a programmer, but why can't it be set up where you can
"assign" the contact to a dist. list while you are still on the contact
screen?

"Why ...?" Only Microsoft can answer that kind of question. We can only guess that one or more of the following factors applies:

-- Distribution lists in general are a low priority on the features list.
-- The functionality you are asking about would be useful to only a small number of users, compared with other features.
-- That functionality would be difficult to implement, resulting in a high cost/benefit calculation

A telling point is that fact that, to my knowledge, no ISV has developed a low-cost add-in to add this functionality to Outlook.
