Is there a limit to how big a distribution list can be?

I have made 3 DLs that are very big: 500, 800 and 1200 addresses. I will be
using AOL through Outlook. I am on AOL's white list. Does this also work
through Outlook?

Your question is for AOL. Size of DL's is controlled by the mail server, not
by Outlook. DL's of this size are generally a very poor idea. I would expect
almost every server to reject messages to that many recipients, and DL's of
that size are very difficult to maintain.

I have already posted a question about this subject, I have a distribution
list just over 100 reciepients, I get a system administrator message saying,
452 there are too many recipients, is there a constriction on how many you
can send at once within Outlook?, I have been in contact with my server and
there is no problem at there end.

Not in Outlook. The mail server imposes those limitations.

The 452 error is a _server_ side error. Outlook is not complaining, your
mail server is. That's where the limit is, not in Outlook.

DLs in Outlook can have a size limit when you connect to an Exchange server.
There you can have as few as 125 to 130 entries. WIth a PST-based DL and a
POP account, however, you may be able to have as many as 1,000 members.
Microsoft recommends having no more than about 50 members in a DL. See
this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/238569/en-us . If Outlook does
complain about the size of the DL, it will not be with an error that starts
with "452".
