Default Help with restoring Contacts from backup file

Could you please explain the process for how to set a given folder as
default? I've imported my contacts from another computer - now they are
loaded in a secondary folder which means I don't get my reminders (which are
the organizational lifeblood of my business). By making this contact folder
the default, will it then activate my follow-up reminders????

Importing is never the correct way to restore Outlook data.
Just open this file and see if it contains the Outlook data you want. If
it does, then configure Outlok to use it as its default data file. I'll
assume you know how since you did not provide your Outlook version.

During a sync between my handheld device and desktop all but 3 of my Contacts
were lost. I see a couple of .pst files saved on my desktop. One is
Archive.pst (Office Data file) and the other is Outlook.pst (Office Data
file).

I looked in the Help section, and also on MicroSoft.com at Article ID :
287070, and followed the steps to Import a folder. After the stop to tell it
how to handle duplicates I come to a window that says "Select the folder to
import from:" I select Contacts. Below that I can select "Import items into
the current folder" or "Import items into the same folder in" and that menu
offers either "Personal folders" or "Personal folders" (I'm not sure why it
is in there twice) or "Archive folders". I can't get it to work on either of
those.

How should I proceed? Any help would be appreciated!

Default Help with restoring Contacts from backup file

You cannot set an individual folder as a default.
You can only set an entire PST file as a default. Method depends on your
version, which you did not provide.
