After install Office 2k over Outlook XP, I ran into the following problem.
The user's contacts show in the folder view, but when he creates a new email and clicks on the "To" button, his contacts do not show in the "Select names" window in the dropdown box when he selects All Contacts under All Address Lists or Contacts under the Outlook Address Book. |

You're kidding, right?
Tell me you did not try to install an older version over a newer one. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Ray Drummond" wrote in message ... I uninstalled the version before I did this.

Even so, you are in a completely unsupported scenario. Did you run the
Eraser utility? Did you create a new Outlook profile? You would need to have done both for things even to have a chance of working. You also must post Outlook's mail support mode if you need help repairing your Address Book Service. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Ray Drummond" wrote in message ... I had that reversed. It was Office 2k being upgraded to Office XP.

Well then its simple.
Upgrading Office versions does not work until you create a new Outlook profile from scratch. After you do, make sure you configure the Outlook Address Book correctly. New profile: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287072/ Outlook Address Book: http://support.microsoft.com/default...Product=ol2002 -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Ray Drummond" wrote in message ...
