Default can I color code tasks with a category or otherwise make subcatego

I am starting to use the task component of outlook extensively, and I want to
have 5 or 6 large categories, and then several subcategories within them.
For example, for the Category "Next Actions" I would like to sub-sort it by
"Calls" "Errands" etc. I cant' figure out how to do it. EVen being able to
alphabetize within a category (as opposed to the whole task list) would help.
Color would do it to I guess. Thanks for any suggestions

There are no sub-categories in Tasks but there are ways to do what you want.

First decide what you will use the categories field for. Then you can make
additional field(s) for other information. Or you could use some of the many
existing (hidden) fields such as the Status field.

Turn on your Advanced Toolbar and use the Group By box and field chooser to
make the Simple List view of Tasks show the data you want.
