I am using Outlook 2002. After accidentalyly deleting all my contacts, I
have now re-established a contacts list. However, when preparing a new email
message and click on the address book to select a name, the name appears in
the "message recipients" column, as it appeared to de do previously. Now
when I send the message, it bounces as undeliverable. From what I can see,
the name only is selected rather that the attached email address. I have
tried to fix this problem by reading forums etc, but to no avail.
Can somebode please help me to get this fixed.

Did you configure the Outlook Address Book to use your new Contacts Folder?

thereference you provided, but to no avail. Outlook is still not working as
it did before. Do you have any further ideas, and/or should I try to
reinstall Outlook.

When "building" a new email message to send, fisrt I click for a new massage,
then click on the address book to open it. A name is selected, and when I
double click on the name, the name is populated into the "To" field of the
new email. I have rechecked the contacts folder where the name and email
address are both included, and this appears to me to be OK.
I reestablished the contacts list by typing in all the details that I held
from another source.
From my basic knowledge of outlook, Contacts seems to me to an Address Book
within the Outlook Address Book.

It should be easy to determine where the problem lies.
Next time send the message from your Contacts Folder (Actions New Message
to Contact) and see if that works. If it does, then your Outlook Address
Book is corrupt and simply needs to be reset. If it does not, you did not
type a valid email address in the Contact Record.

Russ, thank you very much for your assistance. I have done all that you
suggested, but still no change to my problem. I have now started to re-type
email addresses into Outlook, and for those done, all is working OK. So, I
don't know really what the problem was, but am getting past it. Thanks again
