where is Microsoft on this issue. If you search google you see a LOT of
simular issues with their resent patches and even this tread ends up dead-ended. What a great was for MS to create revenue by releasing bad patching system so people have to pay them for support. This to me is not a minor issue, if we can't patch regulary then we open the system up to new issues and who know what other problems we'll end of having to address. meantime, us users hack this and that based on other end users suggestions hoping that we don't screw something else up while trying to stay current. Rob "Dave" wrote: For whatever reason I cannot install these high priority security patches. Can anyone help me out? Just for the record I have Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 4. I also have Microsoft Outlook 2003 SP3. Thanks, Dave |

Still the same problem here...
I tried everything, even trying to repair/reinstall office 2003. but even that gave an error and it did not finish... I am now waiting for this month's patches, as one of these that did not install will have a new version (the junk email filter...) But I am already guessing, that the problem will continue... Next option is to clean office 2003 and then install it again... but that will take some time, which I currently do not have... "Rob" wrote: where is Microsoft on this issue. Any issues with Windows or Microsoft Update are handled free of charge, so how does that increase Microsoft's revenue stream? -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

How long are we likely to wait before Microsoft tell us what to do next ?
As this is my first entry on the forum I have little experience with response times. roger "Brian Tillman" wrote: Rob wrote: where is Microsoft on this issue. This newsgroup is not an official support channel, so if you mean how long will you need to wait before Microsoft posts an answer here, then the answer is likely "the life of the universe". If you mean how long must you wait before Microsoft fixes whatever problem you have in mind, the answer varies. Call Microsoft and open a support incident if you require a timely response. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
