Default Changing default email account

I am using Outlook 2003 with Windows XP Pro. I have two email accounts in my
profile. I have an Exchange Server account attaching to my Small Business
Server 2003. The second email account is a POP3 account. I change the
default email account to the POP3 account, but the setting changes when I
restart Outlook. How can I keep the POP3 account as the default email
account.

Use a separate profile for each account type. Exchange will always try to reset itsefl as the default.

Milly,

Thanks for your response. The reason I have both accounts in one profile,
is that I want to be able to read my mail and use the calendaring at the same
time. Restarting Outlook is too cumbersome.

Then you may want to set a default signature for each account (something like and ) and set Word for your message editor after you have done so. Then, when composnig mail, you can see which account will be sending by the signature that is populated when you compose the mail.
