Vista Windows Mail works fine...but Outlook 2007 won't receive ema
I have had my Vista machine for about 3 weeks and have used the Windows Mail
program that comes with it without incident. Today I bought Office 2007 and imported my maill messages into Outlook 2007 and planned to use Outlook 2007 for my email. The weird thing is that even though I imported my mail account settings (I have several mail accounts) directly and have triple checked that everything is set up in Outlook exactly as it is in Windows Mail, for some reason when I try to check mail in Outlook it keeps saying that my incoming mail server rejected my login. This makes absolutely no sense to me as I can continue to check email just fine if I do it through Microsoft Mail. This happens on each of my 5 email accounts. I am unable to either send or receive email through Outlook. How is this possible? Same computer, similar "Microsoft" email program, both specifically designed to work with Vista, same exact email settings...but one works and one doesn't? I'm going crazy here. Microsoft Office is to expensive to have ridiculous issues like this. If Microsoft Mail works than how can this happen? Any assistance is much appreciated! Bob |

You may have to create a new mail profile...Outlook 2007 seems to have issues
sometimes when an old profile from an earlier version is used. Don't delete the old profile until you are sure the new one has fixed the problem. -- Jocelyn Fiorello MVP - Outlook *** Messages sent to my e-mail address will NOT be answered -- please reply only to the newsgroup to preserve the message thread. *** "Vanderrg" wrote: I have had my Vista machine for about 3 weeks and have used the Windows Mail program that comes with it without incident. I have a similar problem to Vanderrg. After using Win mail on Vista and then
set up Outlook, all my mail still goes to windows mail. I have tried deleteing the mail account on mail but the mail still goes there. I set the default "to mail" to outlook but still will only go to mail. I set a seperate user name for my wife and windows mail was never set up on her account. I am able to use outlook for her email. weird. Vista Windows Mail works fine...but Outlook 2007 won't receive ema
From june last year I use MS outlook 2007 without any problem. I did not change anything (same firewall & virusscanner : Kaspersky 6.0) Until the 6 of januari 2008 I recieved my mails and then suddenly no more mails. I uninstalled and reinstalled outlook 2007 , I made a new mail profile, I did a flush of the DNS, started outlook in safe mode, dissabled my scanner, nothing helps. With the same account settings I configured Win mail Vista and ..... no problemo, all mails come in nicely. For the moment Outlook gives me errorcodes : 080042108 and 080042109 (= not possible to make a connection with the server) and windows mail works perfectly.Any other ideas ?? thx Mppatriz;7498641 Wrote: I have a similar problem to Vanderrg. Did anyone ever resolve this issue? I've been banging my head against
a wall trying to figure it out! On Mar 2, 1:16 pm, Denemem Denemem.35o...@no- mx.forums.yourdomain.com.au wrote: From june last year I use MS outlook 2007 without any problem.
