I have been using Outlook Exprees under XP. My e-mail account is with my
cable internet provider Comcast. I will be moving to Vista/Office 2007 and would like to use the much more robust/functional Outlook 2007 for processing and sending e-mail etc. Will I be able to set up and connect to the provider's POP3 e-mail server to download my mail? |

Yes, you will. Outlook has supported POP3 for many years.

Sue
Like Steve, I plan to install Office 2007 Small Biz incl OL 07. I have been using Outlook Express for years. Once installed, will a Wizard guide me through the set-up phase? Could you tell me the proper settings--and where I will find them amongst the new Ribbons. Will be working under XP sp2 not Vista. TIA--And thanks to all MVPs; you provide us mortals great assistance. Jim "Sue Mosher [MVP-Outlook]" wrote in message ... Yes, you will. Outlook 2007 does a great job of pulling over your previous e-mail client's
settings. It did mine seamlessly. Just in case though you should ask your ISP for those settings. They should include your Acct type (POP3), Incoming/Outgoing mail server designation and whether SPA (secure authentication) is required. "James C. Sure, where do you get stuck?
I had to go with windows mail, but can't send photo's with that You must be doing something wrong then. There is no such limitation in that product. -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] Coauthor, Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.howto-outlook.com/ Outlook FAQ, HowTo, Downloads, Add-Ins and more http://www.msoutlook.info/ Real World Questions, Real World Answers ----- "hairy" wrote in message ... just got a new computer and tried to install outlook 07 and I am having trouble trying to connect to my account, I have rang my isp ( bigpond ) and they don't support outlook 07 ???? so I had to go with windows mail, but can't send photo's with that .
