Right click a item in Personal Folders i.e. "Inbox" rename is greyed out...
How do I enable this - the most advance outlook ever and I want the folders in the order I want them, please. |

You can't rename any of Outlook's default folders, in any version.

In this particular instance and this one alone, I acquiesce.
I cannot. The folders appear in alphabetical order (starting with the trash) And a Ms. Mosher was kind enough to point out: "I am incapable of renaming them." However, it is my goal to change in the order in which they appear. Has anyone found a way to change the order in which folders appear in the Personal Folders tree view? You can't change their order in the Folder List view, but in Outlook 2003 you can add shortcuts to them in whatever order you want using the Shortcuts view of the Navigation Pane. I don't have access to an OL 2007 installation to see if that view is available in its Navigation Pane. -- Brian Tillman |

Brian;
Just as you do not yet have access to OL 2007, I have had no experience with Outlook - ever. (1st timer or is it Newbie?) In OL 2007 there is no Shortcuts view of the Navigation Pane (that I could find) But I did manage to immediately find and kill a Favorite Folders menu bar that by default was above the Mail Folders bar. I saw this as redundant. Turns out, I believe that this Favorite Folders is your Shortcuts View renamed - can function much like you described. Thanks for the tip. For M$: Code on top of Old Code does not a New and Improved Product make. "Brian Tillman" wrote: Patrick wrote: In this particular instance and this one alone, I acquiesce. I cannot. Yes, there is a Shortcuts navigation pane, accessed through the small down arrow at the very bottom of the navigation pane.
