Default Windows desktop Search in Windows Vista

i installed the trial of office 2007 small business on my computer running
vista rc1. in outlook, i get the bar at the top of the screen telling me to
install windows desktop search and instant search is disabled. i dont know
why this is happening because i have vista, and instant search should just
work. instant search worked just fine with beta 2 technical refresh. for the
hell of it, i went to the download site for windows desktop search and
downloaded it. when i tried to install it, it said i had the wrong operating
system, as i expected it to. what do i need to do to fix this? thanks

How is this related to Outlook? You would probably get a faster answer in a Windows group, specifically one that covers desktop search, or at least the general group.

Default Windows desktop Search in Windows Vista

this is related to outlook because instant search works fine with vista, but
it does not work from within outlook. i cannot search in outlook and outlook
is trying to get me to install an update for windows xp. it gives me this
message, "to enable the instant search feature in Outlook, you must download
an update to Windows Desktop search." then it asks if i want to go to the
microsoft download center to get it. when i clicked on the link, it takes me
to a site to download Windows Desktop Search 3.0 RTW for Windows XP, which
wont install on vista. it says that it will not install in vista because the
technology is already included in vista. why does outlook think i have xp,
when it never did before?
