Default There is a delay every six seconds in Outlook. Why?

I just bought a new computer and had Outlook Express moved over from my old
machine to Outlook 2003 on my new machine. But there is a serious problem
with Outlook. It seems to have a delay. Every 6 seconds it stalls for 3
seconds, no matter what I'm doing -- whether it's opening or closing files,
moving along the tool bar, browsing through emails, etc. Outlook simply
stops for 3 seconds and then plays catch-up as it resumes.

This is incredibly frustrating and I can't find the source for it. Is it
something to do with Outlook Express, or with Hotmail? Is something
buffering?

All ideas welcome and sincerely appreciated

You can't move Outlook Express to Outlook. You can move the data you see in
Outlook Express to Outlook, however. Is this what you mean?

What are your send/receive settings?

If you're using Outlook, it certainly doesn't have anything to do with
Outlook Express.
