upgrade issues: Outlook express won't start
I upgraded from windows Me to Windows Xp. I also upgraded to Internet
explorer 7.0. I cannot run Outlook Express anymore. When i click on OE, i am prompted to insert the 2000 SP-1 CD to reinstall Outlook Express. This computer was given to me, so I do not have the CD's to reinstall. Does anyone know how I can fix this so I can access OE? I have spent a lot of time searching ith no clear answers. Please help! Thanks. |

Ask in an Outlook Express newsgroup like news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...xpress.general or an Internet Explorer newsgroup (there are many of them). This newsgroup is for Office Outlook. -- Brian Tillman |

When you say "prompted to insert the 2000 SP-1 CD to reinstall Outlook
Express", you lost me. Outlook Express is part of Windows XP and is installed, removed, and reinstalled from 'Control Panel|Add/Remove|Windows Components'. A request for a "2000 SP-1 CD " would suggest you have either Microsoft Office 2000 SP1 or Office Outlook 2000 SP1. Which application, Outlook or OE, are you having trouble with? Do you have either Office or Outlook on this machine? Hal -- Hal Hostetler, CPBE -- Senior Engineer/MIS -- MS MVP-Print/Imaging -- WA7BGX http://www.kvoa.com -- "When News breaks, we fix it!"
