Default Outlook is not installed for current user

Since July 2006 I have been working with Office Professional 2007. Some five
days ago I installed the Technical Refresh for the package. I am not sure
that what I am now experiencing is related to the Tech Refresh. It may or
may not be!

I have Office 2003 installed and sometimes I open Word in 2003 and sometimes
Word Beta 2007. There seems to be a clash at times between Word 2003 and
Office 2007. For no apparent reason when opening Wordd 2003 it invokes a
process to configure 2003 (I have not noted and exact description in the
banner) 2003 then seems to run OK but when I next open Outlook 2007, it also
starts a configuration process and then gives a message: Microsft Office
Outlook has not installed for the current user. Please run set-up to install
the application.

I have tried running the install for the whole of Office beta 2007
requesting a Repair, but this did not fix it. In the end a deleted the whole
of Office (which said it had not completed OK! but seems to have cleared all
the icons), ran the install and then ran the Tech Refresh which got me going
again.

However my printer/scanner when I did an OCR scan job invoked Word 2003 for
the output and promptly reported that Office 2003 Setup had error 1911 and
could not register a PortalConnect dll. I ignored the error but again when
I next used 2007 Outlook it came up with the "not installed for the current
user" message.

Again clues? Sorry for the length of the post

I have had the same thing since B2TR. I had no problems with the old Beta 2
but since the refresh I got almost the exact problems you listed below. In
other threads people have reported similar problems.
