I have Outlook 2000 and outlook Express installed. Outlook 2000 is supposed
to be default, but when I click a link for email address on a site Outlook Express always opens. According to Express options, it is not default. How can I get Outlook 2000 to open when clicking email links. Thanks in advance. |

Take a look in My Computer or Windows Explorer:
Go to the View menu Options File types tab Highlight URL:MailTo Protocol Click Edit Highlight open Click Edit Make sure Outlook is your default program. The "Application used to perform action" should look something like this: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OUTLOOK.EXE" -c IPM.Note /m "%1" (Change the path to match your system) -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "ssswilson" wrote in message ... Hmmm, I don't have that. I have a URL "internet shortcut", but that is it.
I'll have to check another machine. You have no URL:MailTo ?
Perhaps you could cut to the chase by stating your operating system since that is what is in play here. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "ssswilson" wrote in message ... Hmmm, I don't have that. Okay, very strange. I opened Outlook Express and made it default. Then
opened Outlook 2000 and it asked if it should be default and I said yes. Now it seems to work properly. Thanks. Scott "ssswilson" wrote: Sorry bout that. XP Pro. Then you most definitely have a definition for URL:MailTo in File
associations that you can set manually if you need to. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "ssswilson" wrote in message ... Sorry bout that. XP Pro.
