I am trying to configure outlook 2000. I was able to send email but not
receive yesterday. I tried to reconfigure but I get error message when trying to send/receive saying...."The TCP/IP connection was unexpectedly terminated by your mail server. If this problem persists contact your LAN administrator or Internet Provider" --- Can you tell me what this means? My configuration uses... Incoming mail (POP3) server named: imap.aol.com Outgoing Mail SMTP server : smtp.aol.com outgoing mail SMTP box #587 (as per AOL instructions) |

Sounds like an issue on AOL's server or a connectivity issue, not an Outlook issue, but lengthen the server timeout value on the Advanced tab of the account properties pages. -- Brian Tillman |

Brain,
Thanks for the tip. I set the server timeout value to about 3min. Now when I try to send a msg from the out box the msg is returned saying... No Transport provider was available for delivery to this recipeint" - Do you have any ideas why it is not sending or recieving? Steve "Steve Stad" wrote: I am trying to configure outlook 2000.
