Default Redirecting of e-mail, and getting addressbook to work in outlook 2000?

Hey guys,

I have two questions here that I need help on.

I have two users on one machine using outlook 2000, one of the users .pst
has gone over
2GB limit, and I have tried eliminating e-mails from it, but it will not
delete NO matter
what I do, I have also run both scanpst.exe and 2GBpst.ext (I think that's
right) to reduce
the size of the pst, and I have somewhat managed to cut down the size of the
file but when I tried implementing the new .pst it put it below under a new
heading and created subfolders below that (see
http://www.sapyta.com/pictures/alexmail.jpg), I would like to be able use
the second.pst as primary incoming inbox and then try to remove if I can
within outlook to empty the deleted items folder and other e-mails that I do
not need because as it is right now going into outlook on one side of the
computer takes up to 4 minutes to it to open, and another 4 minutes to open
a e-mail, and once its open and working I can move around outlook great.

Now other user has no problem with .pst but, has it has two Personal folders
headings(http://www.sapyta.com/pictures/momsmail.jpg) Reason for that when I
had to re-install Office 2000 to fix another problem un-related to this the
inbox was empty, so I had to re-add the outlook.pst back in there, but when
I closed Outlook and went back in it showed Outlook today and other personal
folder above. So I how do I get rid of that so that it only shows Outlook
today?

Also here's the other thing that is happening. When either user tries to
send new e-mail both addressbooks are empty, BUT the second user has
contacts, so how do I get addressbooks to work on both sides. Both users
have different contacts/address so I can't copy one and put it in the other.

John

Make whatever PST you want the delivery location by selecting it in the
Folder List, then clicking FileProperties and using the delivery options to
make it the delivery location. Stop and restart Outlook. The PST you chose
will be the new Outlook Today. Then, for every Personal Folders you don't
want, right-click its root and choose Close.

Try right-clicking the COntacts folder that doesn't appear and see if there
is an Outlook Address Book tab. If so, there should be a setting there to
enable it. I don't recall Outlook 2000 well enough to be more specific.

Depends on your needs. I don't. If I want to move things from one PST to
another, I manually move them.

Also I was thinking of d/l office '07 would that help or hurt?

You should not be considering using beta software in a production
environment. However, Outlook 2007 does support Unicode PSTs which have
much , much larger allowed sizes.
