I installed the office Beta (Professional Plus download) about 2 weeks ago.
Everything was working ok until I tried to install the Data Analysis pack in Excel today. During the installation of the Add-in I got a message stating “the above programs need to be closed to complete installation” with retry, abort and ignore. I was able to close Word but it would not let me close Outlook or the open Excel file. Tried retry got the same message, still couldn’t close Outlook so I clicked ignore. Installation of addin gave no other hints there was a problem. I went back to Add-in’s in Excel and the data analysis for regression was not there (though Solver which in installed at the same time was). Rebooted. When it booted back up Outlook Beta was gone, (the 97 version I had in previously was there), and still no data analysis option in excel. Searched for outlook exe nothing except old version, tried to repair installation, no good. Tried to reinstall altogether, but now on add/remove programs within the office beta installation it says Outlook is not available. Any idea how I can get Outlook back? And being able to do regression in excel would be nice to. Thanks Brandi |
