Default Configure Outlook attachment icon to display in email header

Hi Lee

On my Outlook 2003 I am able to insert file on attachments field only when I
use plain text format. If I use HTML I get an icon with a question mark in
the body of the mail!

To insert a file my user does like this:
- open a received email with attachment
- click COPY on the attachment
- then close the message, reply YES to keep the copy into the clipboard
- Open a new message then click PASTE

Do you have an idea?
Thank a lot
Jean-Claude

Hi Adrastos,

Thanks to take time to respond. I am glad that you successfully embed the
attachment in attach field. Should there is anything we can help in the
future, feel free to let me know. Thanks and have a nice day!

Default Configure Outlook attachment icon to display in email header

Hi Jean-Claude,

Thanks for posting here.

Personally, I don't think it is a good idea to paste the attachment to
another new mail after closing the original mail containing this
attachment. There are some known issues for doing so due to not sufficient
information available on the clipboard to retain attachment. In my own
Outlook 2003, I cannot see anything when I paste the attachment after
closing original mail. More info he

Multiple attachments do not paste as expected in a new e-mail message in
Outlook 2002

Note the article also applies to Outlook 2003.

I suggest using one of the following methods to work around this problem:

- Save the attachments to your hard disk, and then attach them to the
e-mail message. To attach an attachment to an e-mail message, follow these
steps:

1. Click in the body of the e-mail message.
2. On the File menu, click Insert.
3. Click the file that you want to attach, and then click Insert.

- Keep the original e-mail message that you copied the attachments from
open when you paste the attachments in the new e-mail message.

Meanwhile, our partner newsgroup is an issue based service, meaning we
usually respond to one question/issue per post per user. This will lessen
the confusion for both of us, as well as ensure that our results are
accurate and not a result of a test for a different question. Therefore if
you require further assistance for this question, please submit a new post
in our newsgroup. Your understanding and cooperation is very much
appreciated.

Thanks and have a nice day!
