Default Autocomplete by Address Only?

Lots of people I correspond with do not have email addresses that match
their names. Example: Tom Brown is , etc When I use
autocomplete and type Bro, I never get Tom Brown. I would have to
remember to type Lad... to get autocomplete to work. Why try to
remember an address?

Autocomplete works for John Smith if I type Joh, so it's not that
Outlook is not working on my machine. I understand how autocomplete
works - but I don't see a setting that will allow me to autocomplete
the address based on Name, rather than address. I'm using Outlook
2003 on Windows XP

Have I missed a setting or option?

There does not seem to be any consistent result. 2 names in my contact
list work differently (although both are set up the same). However,
typing the first few letters of the email address always works.

Suggestions?

Autocomplete is detached from the contacts list - the full names should be
in autocomplete though, at least for the people you replied.

If you type bro and Ctrl+K, does Tom Brown (or other Bro's) come up?

As I type a name, I get whatever is in the NK2 file - apparently first
name. But, I also get actual email addresses that begin with 'T'. In
some cases, I don't see a name, only an email address.

So: if I type 'T' I get Tom (and other names with T)
if I type 'B' I do not get Brown (and other names with B)
if I type 'R' I get (and other names with R)
But if I want Pinky Smith ), I can only get that by
typing 'R'

Hope you can understand the examples.
Thanks.
