Outlook email mopdified field not changing
Alex wrote:
I have several Outlook clients on which modified time field is changing when email status is changed from read to unread and vise versa. At the same time I have a several Outlook clients where this behavior is desired, but it is not happening. All Outlook clients are the same version and patch level. Several have been completely reinstalled. Is there a way to figure out as why modified time is only changing on some client? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks I'm not sure...I'm setting up my reply to crosspost to microsoft.public.outlook, as that's where the Outlook gurus hang out. |

Changing a message from unread to read or vice versa shouldn't change the modified date. Where are the messages stored, in a PST or an Exchange mailbox? I'm assuming the latter, considering where you posted your original message. Here is what Microsoft says: The following actions change the modified date and time of the message: a.. Forwarding b.. Replying c.. Replying to All d.. Editing and Saving e.. Moving or Copying Copying or moving the message to another message folder does not always change the modification date and time. If the destination folder is a personal folders (.pst) file, the modification date and time does not change. If the destination folder is a Microsoft Exchange Server mailbox or an offline folders (.ost) file, the modification date and time does change. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
