question about leaving messages on server
My husband and I have 1 POP mail account. I am accessing it from a
computer in Virginia, where I'm staying with relatives. He is accessing the same account from California. I have my Outlook set up to keep messages on the server, but to delete them after 1 day (so that he will still get the messages, but the server won't get clogged). His email program, Eudora, is set up so the messages will be deleted from the server after he downloads them. Is there a chance I won't get some messages because he has his computer set up that way? (He downloads it 1st, then it gets deleted off server and I don't get it) If he's downloading the messages after me, will my setting to keep the messages on the server for 1 day prevail, or will the messages get deleted after he downloads them because of the way his Eudora is set up? |
question about leaving messages on server
If he polls the account first then it will be removed from the server
irrespective of what your account setting is, if he polls the server after you then the message will still get removed from server. In some cases he may not be able to retrieve all the emails if he fails to access the server in the one day time scale. "Lily" wrote in message oups.com... My husband and I have 1 POP mail account.
