Default Send-Receive Status

I have my Outlook 2007 set to send/receive every 5 minutes, and it used to
show me at the bottom right of the screen when it was performing that task,
but lately that information seems to have disappeared. How do I get it back?

Do you have the Status Bar display turned off? Check on the View menu

Default Send-Receive Status

I had a similar problem. When clicking on the Send/Receive tab I was always
getting a large notification window rather than the notice on the Status bar.
I wanted to remove the large notification and have, like you, the
notification in the Status bar. Though my Status bar was active, there was
not message appearing.

After searching all the Tool bar options to no avail, I finally found the
answer. In the large notification window during Send/Receive, there is a box
to check to "always hide this message". I had not noticed it before for the
brief time the notification appeared. Well, I checked the box, and now I have
the Send/Receive notification in the Status bar as I wanted!
