Default Can I disable "Unread mail'?

Outlook 2007 on WinXP SP3. I prefer to see all my 'Unread and Read' mail in
my Inbox just like Outlook 2002. If it has any bearing I have disabled
Groups so all my mail from today and all previous mail is displayed in the
Inbox without being categorised as Today, Yesterday, Last week etc. Thank
you.

Unread mail is just a virtual folder - you can use the inbox directly. You
can use the full folder list too - press Ctrl+6 to see it.

Yes, or right click and choose remove from favorites. If you delete it you
can easily make a new one if you change your mind.
