it only shows them after you've sent messages to those people. Unless the

I use Office 2007 and the email address suggestion does not work after

As Diane stated, losing connection to the nickname cache indicates that your
profile is corrupt - create a new one under Control Panel-Mail Icon-Profiles-New.
