Default is there a way to see if networked Outlook mail has been opened?

we just switched to MS Outlook on our network from Groupwise. Groupwise
allowed senders to see if and when their email was opened within the network.
Is this feature available in Outlook?

You can add a read receipt to the item and you may get a response when the
item is opened. However users can also deny the return of a receipt.

Thanks. we require staff to review email at least once per shift and
oftentimes it is good to know if the recipient has opened the mail so you
know they have either been properly informed for a current issue/problem or
that they are working on the issue for a pending reply. This is a really
good productivity feature, widely used in Groupwise, and it would be great if
it could be implemented in a future version.

It is already there and the ability to disable the option to not send a read receipt is also available if the network admin uses a GPO to disable this option. Only the truly determined will circumvent it and that is not a tech problem, it is an HR problem.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

Outlook does not offer that feature. It's one of the few Groupwise features
that users tend to miss when they switch to Outlook.
