Default Recovering deleted POP3 emails?

Outlook 2003 user, receives email via POP connection.

If the email host isn't able to provide with the recent emails, is there any
way to recover the emails locally from the PC? The recover deleted items
appears only to work with Exchange Server.

Thanks for any and all assistance!

If he's deleted an item and has emptied the Deleted Items folder, the only
chance of recovery is he

The user should take more care and also should make frequent backups of the

If the user deleted them and then emptied the deleted items folder, there is only one remotely possible method to recover them - see

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

After furious head scratching, jscorsone asked:

Thanks so much for the link. I'm afraid I don't have any experience with
hexadecimals or hexadecimal editors.

The website talks about columns on the left and right, but I'm not sure what
they mean.

My first two rows read:

.. . . .

Thanks for the tip.

I figured out the editor and was not able to recover any mail. Next time
I'll know not to open the Outlook .pst first.

Thanks again!
