Hi guys, I have a new email address that I have set as my default
account (OL 07). When I send a new message, it automatically goes from this new email address. However, I am still receiving mail into my older accounts and when I reply to these I'd like to ensure they are also sent from my new email address. I've had a look at the various rules, but the only one that deals with replies is to reply using a template, and it just automatically sends a blank message without waiting for me to type anything. I'm not sure if this is possible, but it would be great if I could avoid having to manually set the account to send replies from. Thanks in advance for advice on how to achieve this. B |

B Thanks for replying. Because I use MsgTag my outgoing server is already the same for all accounts. I just need to tell Outlook somehow to send the reply from my new default account. Is that possible? |

Sorry to be dense, but I cannot see where that option is. When I click on Account settings, I can see all my different email accounts, through which I still need to receive incoming mail. Dbl-clicking on one brings up: User Info: Name and Email address - this has the old account details Account type: Pop3 Incoming mail server: Outgoing mail server: 127.0.0.1 Logon Information That old account's username and password The "require logon using SPA" box is not ticked. Then clicking on More Settings gives me 4 tabs: General, Outgoing, Connection and Advanced. "General" has that old account's name, and the two boxes under Other User Information are blank. I've tried typing the new name into the Reply Email box but this doesn't cause replies to come from my new account. As with my new account, there are no boxes ticked under "Outgoing Server". Connection has only a check in the "connect via Lan" box. Advanced has the same port and server settings as my new account. Do you think you could post a screenshot of where the "From" field can be found in Outlook 07? Thanks again for helping me with this. Jo |

Sorry - now I have to set up my colleagues' Outlook 03 to send from
their new email addresses while still receiving incoming mail into their old addresses. Their outgoing servers will remain the same, and I have typed their new email addresses into the boxes you have indicated in your graphic, but replying to messages sent to their old addresses brings up the old email address. Are settings different in 03? Thanks again, Jo |

Are settings different in 03? Do not change the bottom address, only the top one. The top address is the sender address and will be where your recipients see the mail originating. The bottom "address" isn't really an address but is whatever username the POP server requires for you to access the old POP mailbox. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

they are slightly different, but not enough that you shouldn't be able to
figure it out. Make sure you put in a reply to address so replies will go to the new acct. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook 2007: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/ Outlook Tips by email: Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Subscribe to Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: "Boppy" wrote in message ...
