Default Outlook 2007 does not work after importing from another pst file

Brian thanks for the help. I have created a new profile and the
Outlook now seems to be working OK. How do I go about getting my
achived messages back in the new profile -- I have 4 achive files in
the old XP folder

FileOpenOutlook Data File from within Outlook is how you access other
PSTs. If you want to make one (or more) of those PSTs the active archive
PST, then modify the autoarchive settings on ToolsOptionsOtherAutoArchive
to use one of them.

I installed Vista Ultimate and am running Office 2007 Enterprise. *All
updates done. *I imported my old .pstfile from my previous XP Pro
installation (copied it to the new hard drive). *Since the import I cannot
get Outlook to react to the cursor and have to close it down via Task
Manager.

Any help appreciated.

You can use Inbox Repair tool which is used to repair corrupted file
of pst. To run Inbox repair tool fallow the steps:

1. Click on start goes to the search then click on files or folders
option.
2. In search box type scanpst.exe.
3. Double click on the scanpst.exe file to open the inbox repair
tool.
4. Then enter the location of Pst file and its name or browse it for
the path.
5. Then start to repair.

This way you can repair your pst file. But if your file is badly
damaged you may not able to repair it. At that time you can use some
software. You can try a popular Outlook recovery tool called Advanced
Outlook Repair to repair your PST file. It is a powerful tool to
recover messages, folders and other objects from corrupt or damaged
Microsoft Outlook PST files.

Detailed information about Advanced Outlook Repair can be found at
http://www.datanumen.com/aor/

And you can just download a free demo version at http://www.datanumen.com/aor/aor.exe

Hope this is useful.

Alan
