I asked something similar in another thread but was getting off that topic's
original question so I reposted here. The situation is this - I bought Office 2007 last year and imported the pst file from my Outlook 2000. (OK I now know I shouldn't have done that, but the option was there and I did it.) So, my present outlook.pst file contains Contacts, etc. from the Office 2000 flavor and, of course, the newly created 2007 Contacts, etc. flavor. I have since learned that there are several kinds of pst files. How do I go about converting my outlook.pst (Personal Folder file 97-2002) to the new and improved Office Outlook Personal Folder File 2007. Thanks, DH |

Since I bought Office 2007 a year ago, it is possible I simply copied my older outlook.pst file to the new location. I don't remember. At any rate, from where I stand now, can I convert my 97-2002 pst file to the 2007 type? If I create a new pst 2007 file, I am told: ..... Not compatible with Outlook 97,98, 2000 and 2002. Create a new pst, by default it will be later, unicode version, then copy
data from old to this new pst. Set this pst as the default store, close the old pst "Dave Horne" wrote in message ... "Gordon" wrote in message ... "Dave Horne" wrote in message ... DL, that sounds like a good idea except I can not copy entire folders such
as Calendar or Contacts. It would seem I would have to copy each individual item within each folder under Personal Folders. This would take a considerable amount of time. Is there a utility that can be recommended to do this task for me? Thanks, DH "DL" address@invalid wrote in message ... This would take a considerable amount of time. In all folders, CTRL-A will select all items. Then EditCopy (or Move) to Folder works fine. The Calendar will need to be in a table view like By Category before CTRL-A will work. Is there a utility that can be recommended to do this task for me? If you want to buy something, sure.
