We need to be able to just enter email address in the to fields however as soon as a user enters an email address Outlook replaces that with a name but we need to show just the email address. So far under Tools/Options/email options/advanced we have unchecked the boxes for Automatic Name checking and Suggest names while completing To, Cc, and Bcc fields and al;so have renamed the NK2 file but we the beast never goes away! Any suggestions will be appreciated. |

I think the users are working with both internal and external in as far as the folder I need to check. |

Well, for internal users, I'm not sure you'll have a solution unless you change the display name of the users in the AD to be the SMTP address. For external users, you'd need to prevent your users from creating contacts. And, while I really hate to ask this... Why does this matter? I mean, I get what you're trying to accomplish, but why? Is there a reason why Mary should see in instead of Some User? -- -f.h. |

The reason we need to make the change is due to some softweare we have developed for our company which auitomatically sends a BCC to a file however if the actual email address is not on thge to or cc the software rejects it. So until we fix it we needed to have this workaround. |

So until we fix it we needed to have this workaround. Fix it fast, because you're probably not going to find a workaround. Let alone the fact that there's plenty of scripts out there that will BCC a particular user on every message you send, I'm not sure why you needed to develope your own software to do it (not to mention that I have no idea what 'BCC to a file' means). -- -f.h. |
