I have a network of 12 computers we use at work. Everything has been
cruising along just fine, until today. Starting this morning, the users started getting errors with Outlook. when they first start Outlook and try to create a new email they get this error. ----------------------- Microsoft Word is set to be your e-mail editor. However, Word is unavailable, not installed, or is not the same version as Outlook. The Outlook e-mail editor will be used instead. ----------------------- Once they click past this, a few of them get this error. ----------------------- One or more ActiveX controls could not be displayed becaue either: 1) Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page, or 2) You have blocked a publisher of one of the controls. As a result, the page may not display correctly. ----------------------- Everyone is running XPSP2 with Office Professional 2003. All of these computers have been running just fine for months if not years. I have already tried re-registering OLE32.dll with no luck, also tried deleting the normal.dot, with no luck. To my knowledge no updates were installed yesterday. Now for the interesting thing. We are in the process of moving to a new AD Domain. Only the computers still on the old domain are having the issue. Everyone is accessing the Exchange Server on the new DC. Any help would be appreciated. |

I tried opening Word and doing Detect and Repair and got a message about the Windows Installer service could not be accessed. Something about windows being in safe mode or the installer service installed wrong. |

I just have the same problem I look on the internet for other users
with the same problems and there are plenty of them. There are some answer on this subject like: run the following command in run: Regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\MSRDO20.DLL Regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\OLE32.DLL run the following text under the run command: Msiexec.exe /fm "GUID for Office 2003 Product" (between the quotation marks give the registery key). Office will install again but the problem stay. Give permissions to appropriate users on the following key. HKEY_Classes_Root\Word.Document\CurVer Remove Normall.dot from the roaming profile. Just remove all older versions from Office from the computer and instal Office 2003 again. The last solution that I read remove Office 2003 by hand from the register of windows. So i did that after a restart from the computer Office 2003 was completely from the computer. So I reinstall is again but I get the same error again. The computers are member of a domain on the background running a exchange server 2003. If a other log in the computer it have the same problem as the standard user that always work on the computer. All the updates from Windows and office are installed but the affect are the same. Do somebody have a idea of a solotion of this problem |
