Make Outlook Default Newgroup Reader

When the "News" Icon is pressed on the toolbar a different program opens
(Barca Pro2). How do I make Outlook the default Newsgroup Reader? I am
using Outlook 2007 and Vista 2007

I tried changing the default programs in Vista but did not work.

Many Thanks.

Outlook is not a newsreader. it uses OE (Windows XP) or Windows Mail
(Vista).

Which I never understood why...
Why outlook is consistently being kept away from newsgroup support?

Because corporations don't want their email client to support newsgroups.
There are addins you can use.

Outlook is not yer normal run-of-the-mill email client. It's used
mostly in corporate environments... and those places aren't exactly
playgrounds, or the powers that be in those environments would prefer
that they not be.

If it is not possible to install outlook express in corporations,
it should then be possible for corporations to not to install the newsgroup
feature of outlook,
if it was there.

Outlook is not OE and the modules are not optional. There are much better
news clients available.

When you get to be the CEO of Microsoft, maybe you can enact that
change.

You are correct. I see that it is Windows Mail that contains the
newsreader, not Outlook. Outlook offers the tool button that will call up
the newsreader.
In my case, pressing the button causes a different program other than
Windows Mail to open. I might try seeing what happens if I remove Barca Pro
from the operating system (I am using Outlook presently but might need Barca
to read older email messages from when I was using it before). I suppose
making Windows Mail the default mail program would not help matters.
