Default Sending tasks between two separate Exchange servers

We work closely with a sister company, and both companies are using
exchange servers. However, they are both in different locations and
separate domains.

We cannot send tasks back and forth between employees at the two
companies. The task arrives, but there is no way for the recipient to
accept/decline the task.

We have tried all the RTF settings and nothing is working. Does
anyone have any ideas on how to get this working?

Thanks

If you create the task and save it to the desktop and then insert it in a Rich Text formatted message and send, does it work then.

After furious head scratching, asked:

No, that does not work. It doesnt offer the recipient the option of
accepting/declining. Any other ideas?
