How can I have Outlook open up my Hotmail In-Box folder directly rather than
having to expand it each and every time?

Sorry for the delay in updating this. I am good to go on this issue.

Let me ask you this. Outlook is my default e-mail application. However, as
of a few days ago everytime I click an e-mail link my Gmail account opens.
I've checked all my settings and everything seems to be in order.

I've even scanned and cleaned my system for spyware.

What else can I do to resolve this issue?

I assume you mean your GMail account in a browser? If its default you
installed something that sets a web acct as default.

If you are getting gmail in outlook and the gmail account is default, go to
tools, accounts and set hotmail (or other acct) as default.

The first assumption is correct. I installed My Web Search last week and I
believe that caused this problem. I have since uninstalled the program but
for some reason Gmail is still opening up in the broswer and acting as my
default e-mail applicaation even though Outlook is noted in my settings.

Do you know what I can do to fix this?

I saw a guy on a mailing list complain of the same thing and he commented
about it being a 'google thing'.... the lightbulb went off in my head.
Unfortunately, he didn't say how he fixed it so I can only guess it was
using IE's tools, internet options menu - programs tab and set outlook as
the default.

Please don't multipost. You've seen your answer in another newsgroup, I
notice.
