Default Outlook 2003 problem

Hello,

I have a problem with Outlook 2003 that I've been trying to solve for a very
long time.
Whenever I click Send/Receive, Outlook gets the new messages I have on my
pop3 server. However, it does not delete messages that I have deleted on
another computer and that are no longer on the server.
The pocket outlook on my pocket pc "does" remove messages that are no longer
on the server from my inbox during send/receive.
How can I get Outlook 2003 to behave the same way? E-mail that I have read
and deleted on my laptop keeps appearing on my desktop and it's driving me
crazy. Thanks for your help.

Messages are not deleted from your Inbox until you delete them yourself. Your
other computer might have a View Filter set--such as 'Show only Unread'
messages. Are you sure you worded your question correctly? Do you want to
delete messages from the server or your own computer? If the handheld leaves
the messages on the server, your other computer will download them again. One
of the computers should be set NOT to leave messages on Server. If you are
using an Exchange Server you need to select Purge Deleted Items.

Default Outlook 2003 problem

Sorry, I should have been more clear about this. My Outlook 2003 "is" set to
leave messages on the server.
My problem is when there is a message in my outlook inbox which still sits
on the server (as Outlook leaves messages it receives on the server) and I go
on to delete that message from the pop3 server using its web interface, I
want Outlook to see that that message is no longer available on the server
and remove it from my ınbox. This way I can always get an exact mirror of
messages on my server in outlook.
This is precısely what I can accomplish with pocket outlook, but cannot,
using outlook on my computer. Hope I've better explained myself this time.
Thank you.

That won't happen with a POP account. Work the other way. Delete it from
your Outlook Inbox and, if you've configured Outlook properly, it will be
deleted from the server as well.

Alternatively, use an IMAP account, if your ISP supports it, and you can do
what you describe.
