Default contacts vs email address

Greetings,

I needed to move my outlook (2003) from my old computer to a new one.
I exported both the mail
and contact folders to the new machine and all seems well EXCEPT:

When I create a new email and click the To button only some of my
contacts appear in the list. Yet
when I go to Contacts I see all of my contacts. For instance I have a
contact for Joe Smith but when
I click the To button in a new email Joe Smith does not appear. Also
If I just type in the name Joe Smith
Outlook does not fill in the address.

Sorry if this is a basic questions but I can not figure out how to fix
this. Any information would be
greatly appreciated. I don't even know how to ask this question on a
google search.

Thank you,

Ted Potter

Default contacts vs email address

Posted here nearly every day. You should never use export and import to
transfer Outlook data. You lose connections and even some data. Hopefully,
the only thing you've lost is the connection between Contacts and the
address book Service. Try resetting it in the properties of your Contacts
Folder.
