Specify two server accounts
Hi,
My MS Outlook is set up for two server accounts: Account 1 - In: work server, Out: work server, User info: work e-mail address Account 2 - In: home server, Out: home server, User info: work e-mail address I've set up the user info to show my work e-mail address in both cases because I reply to a lot of work e-mails at home. However, I also check and respond to home e-mails while I'm at work (using the work server); and also respond to home emails at home (using the home server). I would like my sent e-mails to show my home e-mail address. So I set up these additional accounts: Account 3 - In: work server, Out work server, User info: home e-mail address Account 4 - In: homeserver, Out homeserver, User info: home e-mail address The problem with this kind of set-up is that I get two copies of each incoming e-mail then. Is there a simpler solution/set-up to/for the outcome I want to achieve? Is there a way to set up one e-mail account with 1 incoming server and 2 outgoing servers? That would solve my duplicate incoming mail problem. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Matty |

That's what I've been doing before as well.
I deliberately misspell a part of the incoming mail server name so that it can't successfully download e-mails. That strategy though is a bit annoying because I would then have to contend with connection error messages. "Brian Tillman" wrote in message ... Simply disable incoming messages for the two duplicate server definitions. No error messages then. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

How do you disable incoming messages?
I've been looking long ago for how to do that within ToolE-mail accounts but don't know how? Is the logon info on the first popup window (where I can still see the "more settings" button) only for incoming messages? "Brian Tillman" wrote in message ... So, don't modify the server name. While viewing the Inbox, press ALT-CTRL-S to bring up the Send/Receive Groups dialogue. Select the Send/Receive group containing your accounts (probably "All Accounts") and click Edit. Select each account with the duplicate POP server and uncheck "Receive mail items". -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
