Default OE questions

Ok, I have two questions:

1. With Thunderbird I can use this with a hotkey manager to compose a
new message with Tbird "D:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird
\thunderbird.exe -compose" -- how can I do the same for Outlook
Express and Outlook 2003?

2. When I go to load Outlook Express I get this error message,
followed by the error message below it: http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...Untitled-3.png
how can I fix this and use Outlook Express?

Thanks!

For outlook, the command line option is: /c ipm.note

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ou...031101033.aspx for all
command line options for 2k3.

For the pure OE parts of the post: microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general

Lets forget about the hotkey problem for now. If OE won't open, that's a
moot point.

Start here.

When OE crashes or won't start:

For Outlook, create a shortcut whose target is:

"%ProgramFIles%\Microsoft Office\Office11\Outlook.exe" /c ipm.note

Mind the quotes and spaces. They're needed.

Is OE the default for mail? If so, create a shortcut which contains: mailto:
(with the colon.)

If not you could also create a Desktop shortcut (e.g. *.lnk file) which does
the equivalent of that when OE is the default, e.g. based on:

cmd_output
F:\ftype | find /i "mailto"
mailto="%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /mailurl:%1
/cmd_output
