Why does Outlook 2002 ask for ie 4.01 at launch?
I have trawled and can't find an existing answer.
I have installed Outlook 2002 to use my Acer PDA. Never used it before. I have Windows XP SP2 and Office 2000. When I launch Outlook it says it requires IE 4.01 to run. I have IE 6 installed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook and repaired it and reinstalled and repaired office. What do I try next? Any help greatly appreciated. |

This is a longshot, but open the registry editor and go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\O utlook\Options\MSHTML\Inte*rnational and look at the value shown for LastIEVersion. It should have a value of 5. /neo PS - You mention Outlook 2002 and Office 2000. It isn't good to mix and max versions of Office components. In any event, in the key above, 9.0 is Office 2000 and 10.0 is Office XP/2002. You should be able to adjust accordingly. "John Marsh" wrote in message ... Thanks NEO have tried as you suggested but in both 9.0 and 10.0 the value was

is it opening an installer dialog at the same time? I think Ol2000 had a
similar message - I wonder if has something to do with the upgrade. Was outlook 2000 installed? Dear Diane thank you for your reply.
It does not appear to be opening any installer dialog. I dont think Outlook 2000 was installed. I haven't used Outlook before now and just installed 2002 from the disk which came with the PDA. I don't know which part I am opening I am just double clicking Outlook. If I right click I get some configure options.
